District Maps Pass the Legislature

This week, Republicans in the Legislature passed the district maps that Governor Evers proposed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. I have always said it is the job of the Legislature to determine the maps, not the courts. This should be a win for both sides, as it ends the millions being spent on this redistricting lawsuit, yet not a single Democrat spoke on the floor and all but one voted no.

After a decade of catering to their political base and blaming their electoral losses on gerrymandering, they remained silent and voted against maps drawn by their own governor. This proves that their previous claims of wanting to work in a bipartisan fashion on "fair maps" were never genuine.

Are Conservative ready to admit that this rhetoric doesn't work with people. Robin is a one trick pony. His entire political strategy seems to be call the Dems hypocrites. I've listened to this crap enough. Guess what, you just admitted to the entire State of Wisconsin that the previous maps were rigged. That is what people on the street see. How many Statewide races have we lost under this man's rule.

Republicans could have been smart and started a conversation about the need for more representation in Madison and tried to change the political debate, but instead they admitted defeat because they are out of ideas and only exist to retain their fleeting grip on power in Madison.

The State Constitution says the legislature determines the maps, every 10 years. The Republicans were in control when the maps were done, and they did the maps the way they wanted to like the Democrats did when they were in control! Oh, you say it was not quite the same, well I agree I guess, but Democrats did not want to change it when they were in power, but they want to change it and have found a Supreme Court Justice that will distort the Constitution to legislate from the bench. Oh, you also think that they stretched the law, well not as much as Ever's stretched the Line Item Veto, it is politics! All the conservatives want is to follow the Constitution and have life liberty and happiness for all who play by the rules.

We conservatives elected these Republicans to keep Wisconsin a free, Constitutional, prosperous, compassionate freedom-loving state, that takes care of its hard-working citizens who play by the rules. We see what democrats do is the late stages of socialism and unconstitutional.
