Abortion Takes Center Stage

Abortion is front and center again as the 2024 presidential election cycle ramps up. Joe Biden’s re-election campaign has released an ad in targeted states, including Wisconsin, that basically says if he wins, abortion will be available without restriction. This means at least some abortions would be at taxpayer expense.

Biden supports the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act,” which pro-life opponents say is an extreme bill forcing abortion on demand on all 50 states, even late-term abortions. This bill was introduced earlier this year by its chief author, Wisconsin's junior US Senator Tammy Baldwin (D), who is also up for re-election in 2024.

This election cycle will require voters to have great discernment. Heated rhetoric is already flying from all candidates. Citizens should make sure they understand what candidates really believe on important issues such as life. As Christians, if we truly believe God is the author of life, can we really cast a vote for a pro-abortion candidate in good faith or in good conscience?

At the local level, Attorney General Josh Kaul (D) is doing his best to make sure the lawsuit challenging our pre-Roe abortion ban gets to the liberal Supreme Court sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, it has already become clear how the new 4-3 liberal majority will vote, and they aren't playing fairly.

After the newly liberal court terminated a longstanding court director, the chief justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court stated that the court's liberal justices have been and are continuing to orchestrate an "an unprecedented coup" and undermine the state's constitution in anticipation of a critical term that could determine the fate of Wisconsin's abortion ban, among a host of other critically important issues.

Meanwhile, five pro-lifers have just been found guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act after trying to prevent women from obtaining abortions. The activists were immediately incarcerated and could face more than 10 years in prison for their efforts to save preborn babies. A Department of Justice press release states that the pro-life activists engaged in a "conspiracy" with the aim of obstructing access to the Washington Surgi-Clinic.

It's clear the devil is working hard to advance a pro-abortion agenda in Wisconsin and throughout the country. Now is the time for pro-lifers to double down. There is no greater cause than the preservation of human life, and we cannot back down now!

A few years back we had Scott Walker as Governor who stood up to the tyrant government unions, and we have improved Wisconsin's economy ever since. That did, in a roundabout way cost us a great Senator, Dan Kapanke. That is a complicated subject, but Kapanke backed Walker even knowing it might cost him his job, and it did.
So here is where this comment gets real. Did he do the right thing? He is not there to guide our part of Wisconsin, so his support was worthwhile but costly. I am using this example to suggest that we need to dance with the Devil and put Abortion on the back burner while we get control of Wisconsin's future, win the Baldwin Senate seat, get our Supreme Court back, and win the governor's seat.

Most of you know I am very pro-life, but we continue to lose ground on our values, and we might want to consider dancing with the Devil in the hope of snuffing out evil at some point.

This was hard for me to write, but I think this is how we can win back civility and protect our unborn.
