Last week, I joined USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins at Morning Star Dairy for a productive forum focused on strengthening Wisconsin agriculture and supporting our farmers.

Agriculture is the backbone of our Nation, and there is no better example than the Dairy State. From family farms to agricultural research institutions, Wisconsin continues to set the standard for feeding our nation and the world. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Rollins, we are delivering real, measurable wins for farmers and rural communities:

  • $56 billion investment in Farm Bill Title I support for producers
  • $6 billion in strengthened crop insurance protections
  • Permanent death tax relief up to $15 million per person, helping families pass farms to the next generation
  • Permanent 23% small business deduction and expanded immediate expensing for equipment and production structures
  • Increased Section 179 expensing threshold to $2.5 million
  • Renewal of Opportunity Zones to better support rural America
  • $1.5 billion investment in livestock biosecurity to protect America’s food supply and support animal health infrastructure
  • Major new investments in agricultural research, including $125 million annually for agricultural research facilities

For Wisconsin specifically, these wins are delivering major impact:

  • $624 million in additional risk protection through ARC and PLC
  • 1.2 million new base acres
  • Up to $53 million annually in new conservation funding
  • $124 million in crop insurance savings for producers
  • More than $55,000 family farms protected from the death tax
  • $1.25 billion invested in ag research facilities across Wisconsin institutions
  • $2.4 billion in trade promotion to expand global markets for Wisconsin products
  • $1.6 billion in livestock biosecurity protecting more than $10 billion in Wisconsin livestock production

Bottom line: these policies are strengthening family farms, expanding opportunity, and securing the future of Wisconsin agriculture.
