Last week, Sen. Mary Felzkowski and I, the co-chairs of the Joint Legislative Council, announced the anticipated Legislative Council Study Committees for this summer. These study committees offer the legislature an opportunity to do an in-depth look at issues around the state and allows us to include members of the public in the deliberation process. The topics for this year’s study committees will be:

  • The District Attorney Funding Formula
  • Cemeteries
  • AI in Healthcare
  • Flood Plains
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Veteran Benefits

In the coming weeks, the Legislative Council will publish a website that allows the public to recommend community members to serve on these committees. The Study Committees will meet three or four times over the summer and conclude with a report to the legislature about recommended legislation in their topic areas.

I will include the website to recommend community members for these committees in a future update in the coming weeks.
