Van Orden, Neguse Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Expand Mental Health Access for Farmers
In honor of National Ag Day, I was proud to work across the aisle with Congressman Joe Neguse to introduce the Agriculture Access to Addiction and Mental Health Care Act.
Wisconsin's farmers and ranchers are the backbone of this country. They work long hours, often under tough and unpredictable conditions, to keep food on our tables and our economy moving. Too often, the mental health and addiction challenges facing rural communities go unaddressed due to limited access to care.
This bipartisan legislation takes an important first step by identifying gaps in access to mental health and addiction services for agricultural communities and helping us better understand how to deliver the support our farmers and their families need.
I’m committed to making sure our farmers, ranchers, and rural families aren’t left behind. That means working with anyone, Republican or Democrat, when it leads to practical and meaningful results.
I’ll always fight to ensure the people who feed and fuel America have access to the care and support they deserve.
