I studied his book. I donated to his campaign. I made calls to boost turnout in Iowa. I tell you this so you understand that it really does come from a heart of respect. As disappointing as it was that it had to happen, I was proud of Ron DeSantis when he gracefully stepped aside from the presidential primary.

Governor DeSantis did not get sucked into petty identity politics. As a mature statesman, he did the right thing for the good of the nation. He respected the will of primary voters and suspended his campaign when it was clear that President Trump will be nominated again. I believe his action makes him the frontrunner for the 2028 presidential race.

There are so many egos involved in politics that it is sometimes tempting to judge personalities instead of seeking people with pragmatic policies that help our nation. Greg Gutfeld once quipped about this phenomenon too. I don’t recall his exact words but it was something to the effect of, “We’re not electing a drinking buddy or a person to babysit our children. We are electing the leader of the free world who must be able to stand up to our enemies while simultaneously standing with our allies like Israel and Europe in addition to defending our borders from invasion. Oh, and we are also electing someone who can ensure domestic tranquility and prosperity at home.”

That isn’t a job for your neighborhood ‘nice guy’ or the local ‘Karen.’ It’s a job for a serious negotiator who knows how to lead a cabinet of professionals and get results.

Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Tim Scott all recognized that Donald Trump is the obvious person for that job again so they did the right thing and got out of his way. Will Nikki Haley do the right thing and follow their lead or will her selfish desires prevail?

I believe that the best thing for America right now is for all the Republican ‘also rans’ to suspend their campaigns and throw their weight, supporters, and resources into helping Trump TROUNCE the woke Democrats in November. The combined powers of Trump, Desantis, Ramaswamy, Scott, and Haley would absolutely destroy Biden’s campaign and prove to the country once and for all that wokism is not welcome in the United States.
