There was a lot of blame shifting and responsibility dodging at the Assembly’s informational hearing on sexual grooming in Wisconsin’s public schools. DPI claims their hands are tied without a law change. The MacIver Institute begs to differ.

As the head of DPI, Superintendent Jill Underly has the power to make policy and process changes. Also, DPI doesn’t even need legislative approval to write new administrative rules anymore. If only Underly had shown up to explain her inaction.
