Superintendent Race – Only Two Will Advance
There is a statewide election this Tuesday, February 18. Every voter in Wisconsin will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidate for Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). Voters can only vote for one candidate. The top two vote-getters will move on to the general election on April 1.
Some communities may also have primaries for races such as mayor, city council, school board, or others. We'd like to encourage you to find out what is on your ballot before you go to the polls. You can see your sample ballot at myvote.wi.gov.
You can find candidate information about the three candidates for Superintendent of DPI at our partner, IVoterGuide HERE.
The role of the DPI Superintendent is technically non-partisan; however, the Democrat Party of Wisconsin has endorsed incumbent Jill Underly. Challenger Jeff Wright has previously unsuccessfully run for the Wisconsin State Assembly twice as a Democrat. The other challenger, Brittany Kinser, is a self-proclaimed "blue-dog Democrat," meaning she is more politically moderate.
When faced with difficult decisions and votes, we encourage Christians to vote for the candidate who will do the most to lessen evil. Brittany Kinser is the only candidate who has suggested supporting the Wisconsin school choice movement and prohibiting men from playing in women's sports.
We encourage you to vote on Tuesday, February 18, for the candidate who will lessen evil. The polls close at 8 p.m. Thank you for reading this email and participating in our electoral process.
