“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
– Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)

We hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas holiday focused on Christ and the blessing of family. At Wisconsin Family Action, we believe that family is at the very heart of Christmas. Consider the greatest gift ever given—the indescribable gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God the Father. Through the Incarnation, this Son was born into an earthly family of a married dad and mom. The Creator God who designed marriage and family would have it no other way. Perhaps the significance of this is easy to miss because we know the story so well or because this family structure used to be recognized as the norm, but the intentionality behind Christ’s birth is certainly worth reflecting on.

Family structure matters to God. His plan for the family is for His glory and our good and is both simple and beautiful. This week as we continue to celebrate God’s greatest gift to man, the gift of His Son to be our Redeemer, let’s also celebrate God’s great gift of family and communicate to our children the enduring importance of respecting and honoring God’s design for marriage and family.

All that mankind has accomplished, all the amazing technology, massive gains in agriculture, phenomenal healthcare, and life-saving medicines. But we still can't create a baby without a man and a woman, two men can't do it, two women can't do it, only God can do it! Not only that, but even a sparrow can come from a fertilized egg, laid in a nest built by a bird, out of grass and sticks, lay the eggs over several days, then lay on them to hatch them. That sparrow got all of that from one egg without verbal communication. They manage to deal with cold, snow, and storms, and struggle to find food, but they survive, even without modern medicine, etc. Yes God has a plan!
