There are Democrats who want to eliminate the Electoral College. They feel that it is undemocratic and has no place in our government. It is and it does.

A new nation had sent the British to England and it had no organized plan to govern but they did have states. There were big down to small states in terms of their number of square miles of land within their borders. Think: New York , N. Carolina and Delaware, Rhode Island.

In the eyes of the delegates, a state was a state and if an agreement for governing was to be had, each had to be equal. If the states were to survive, they NEEDED to form a common defense or risk control by some foreign nation. The key was "The Great Compromise" which provided our House of Representatives and Senate. Big states were ahead in the House and small states were ahead in the Senate with new laws having to pass in both parts of the legislature. This arrangement almost allowed the formation of the USA but the 3/5 person for slaves had to be part of the agreement to unite the 13 states due to insistence by southern states. (In order to form a more perfect union, that 3/5 agreement has been eliminated.) This timely action avoided possible conquer by nations who practiced slavery and a 0 value to slaves in government. (Brittan abolished colonial slavery in 1834.)

Those in power want more power by choosing a president by the number of votes cast by the people. The College combines the equality agreement for the states. I am convinced that I do not want to be governed by the East and West coast states; they have the great population cities. The College allows New York and California 2 votes each - - 2 votes each for Wisconsin and Iowa - - for the senators. The College allows one vote each for every state's representative. I pledge allegiance to the Republic and to the United States of America; NOT a democracy! Democrats say they want to save democracy. Bog Scum.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”― Alexander Fraser Tytler, 1747 – 1813, Professor of Universal History

National debt to dictatorship. Bondage, spiritual faith, great courage, liberty, abundance, selfishness, apathy, dependence, bondage!

I fear for my great and grandchildren that we are in a mixture of 4 of the last 5. Please Lord, no to a democracy; save the Republic.

I voted Republican on Tuesday.
