This COVID-19 is serious stuff. And, we've been over-sold.

First of all, 98 % of people who get it - - recover. (Very few who get it, get tested.) When I watch the numbers on the news, only about 1 in 11 - - of the people tested - -- have it. And only about 1 in 20 of those that have it - - die of it. There are 5,822,000 people in Wisconsin. There are about 7,000 cases and 70,000 as of 4/30/20. There are 76 times as many people in Wisconsin than have been tested.

When I was young, babies were often bathed in a dishpan with water heated on a wood fired cook stove. The expression; Don't throw the baby out with the bath water had some tangible meaning. Comedian (?) Bill Mahr 6/8/18, "I feel like the bottom has to fall out at some point, and by the way, I'm hoping for it because I think one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy,". Baby and bath water. News media and the economy.

I live on Highway 71 and you could put on ear plugs and a blindfold to run across it. Most of the time, you'd make it. But! That runs counter to education. We know to look both ways before crossing (especially if wearing ear plugs). I've made multiple trips to grocery and convenience stores. People are considerate, wait, maintain social distance, and wear masks. Me thinks they are educated.

The two worst factors that lead to death; obesity and mass transit. Obesity leads to heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, some cancers, gallbladder / gallstones, osteoarthritis, gout, and sleep apnea. Nursing homes. (All of these maladies leave the person weakened and susceptible to COVID-19. Many would have died during this crisis -- - if the virus did not get them.) Mass transit places people in confined spaces like buses, airplanes, ships, passenger trains, and subways. (IF an obese person goes mass transit . . .. ) Yet, mass transit remains open and I can't get a haircut. (I'll bet my barber would wear a mask. I'd even bring my own thermometer.)

Still, I have to wonder: With over 30 million unemployed and small businesses closing forever, does Mahr, the media, and politicians hate Trump THAT much?

This level of concern and the action we are taking, has been excessive, and most knew it, but did not want to be wrong. No one has any idea of the cost of this virus and our reaction to it. We need to be careful, especially with the most vulnerable, but the rest of us need to get back to a functioning life. It is never going to be normal, but lets see what we can do and do it now!
