Assembly Floor Session on Wednesday
The Assembly had a successful day Wednesday. In our pre-session press conference, we unveiled our plan to improve access to child care here in Wisconsin.

We passed a variety of important bills on the floor, but the one I want to highlight is AB 201, also called "Bradyn's Law". This bill is named after 15-year-old Bradyn Bohn of Kronenwetter, who died by suicide on March 5th after falling victim to sextortion.
Bradyn's Law creates a new crime for sexual extortion, also called "sextortion", making it a Class I felony. Sextortion is a relatively new but rapidly rising crime in the United States with social media playing a big part in it. Criminals who engage in sextortion often threaten their victims by making them think that they are in legal trouble for sending sexually explicit images of themselves. By making it clear that victims will not face legal trouble, we can help prevent future deaths and encourage victims to speak out, while sending a strong message to perpetrators that there are serious penalties for engaging in this.
The bill passed the floor unanimously and now heads to the senate. If passed, it will then go to the Governor's desk to be signed.
