Democrat Dilemma Deepens

About a month ago I wrote about “The Democrats’ Dilemma” and a few months before that “All Democrats aren’t from Dublin”. Both articles shared about some of the many problems the Democrat Party seems to be facing these days – all factual if the media can be believed. If you define “dilemma” as a quagmire, or even a hole; the hole is getting deeper!

So what has happened in the past thirty days? A piece of “junk mail” arrived from the #Walk Away Foundation and the first three sentences really got my attention. “You and I are in a war for America’s soul. And make no mistake --- it is NOT Republican vs. Democrat. It is MAGA vs. socialism. It is freedom vs. communism.” It went on to say “#Walk Away is made up of former liberals who understand exactly how socialist lies are spread, believed, and defended.” The letter concluded “Because if we don’t fight back now, we may lose it forever.”

Upon a little research I discovered the #Walk Away Foundation has been around since 2018 and is now active with boots on the ground in all fifty states. It claims over 49,000 written and video testimonials and over 1 million followers. This has to scare the Democrat Socialists even if just a little!

Then an e-mail appeared in my inbox titled “Keep Calm and your Bibles Close”. It was from Dan Patrick, the Lieutenant Governor of Texas and Chair of Trump’s White House Religious Liberty Commission. The plea was “I’m asking you to take a stand for Christianity by donating $5 or more to my official DEFEAT JAMES TALARICO fundraiser page.” Talarico appears to be a loose-cannon Democrat that beat the outspoken Representative Jasmine Crockett to face Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Texas U.S. Senate election to replace the primary-defeated Senator Cornyn. All politics might be local but this helped make this race a national event – and not in a favorable light for the Democrats.

The Maine U.S. Senate race probably made bigger news. Everyone has probably heard of the Democrat primary winner, Graham Platner, his nazi tattoo, and all his personal problems. But, alas, he has been replaced by a lesser known Troy Jackson after some nasty infighting by the Maine Democratic Party which followed sexual assault accusations and other controversies concerning Platner.

Now, due to the Democrat candidates for Governor, Wisconsin is often in the same sentence as Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, Maine, and New York City.

Thirty days ago there were seven candidates in the Democrat Primary for Wisconsin Governor, although one (Missy Hughes) had already dropped out. Today, there are still seven candidates on that ballot although another one (David Crowley) dropped off and then jumped in again and two others have dropped off. This means of the seven listed candidates, only four are still actively pursuing the office of Governor. The current Lt. Governor, Sara Rodriguez, dropped out after her campaign had some serious financial accounting problems. The former Lt. Governor, Mandela Barnes, dropped out after some questions about his past behavior. (Remember when he was Lt. Governor and routinely in the news, but for all the wrong reasons? Nothing has changed.)

All this chaos and confusion boils down to the choice for the Democrats between the front runner, a Democrat Socialist (Francesca Hong) campaigning to change the Wisconsin way of life and the nearest challenger (David Crowley) who can’t decide if he is a candidate or not but heavily supported by Governor Evers. Simplified, the question appears to be a Democrat Socialist or an Evers’ third term? And, with seven candidates on the ballot one won’t have to get many votes to be declared the winner. Remember, if the winner gathers 30% of the vote then 70% voted for someone else!

In the meanwhile, Rebecca Cooke, one of two viable Democrat candidates for Representative in the 3rd District, was heard plotting the strategy of getting the Minnesota students at the UW-system colleges in the 3rd District to register and vote for her. This seems unreal for why are out-of-state students voting in Wisconsin elections? Apparently with the 25-day residency rule, it is accepted as legal. Someone needs to be asking why are these out-of-state students voting in Wisconsin elections still paying non-resident tuition? Let’s ask that again, why do non-resident tuition paying students vote in Wisconsin elections? And, why is a candidate for Congress encouraging it?

And the late breaking news is that a Dane County Circuit Judge has ruled that Wisconsin Primary Voters cannot void early ballots. One reliable news source reported “More than 117,000 absentee ballots have been returned by July 29…” Recently Lt. Governor Rodriguez and former Lt. Governor Barnes were both in the top three being considered but both have now dropped out of the race. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley was out of the race for about ten days in mid-July and now in again.

Wisconsin’s voting policies and procedures need some serious re-evaluation – both “who” and “when”. There are questions here for our state legislative candidates of both parties.
August 11th is a partisan primary meaning we vote for the party nominees for the November General Election. Time is getting short, so make sure you are informed and involved and vote on August 11th!

I sure hope the democrats are reading what Webster puts in print. They have no source of facts other than to get it from Webster, and it is in simple form and needs no AI to interpret it.

Yep, I selfishly think I will vote for Hong: free healthcare, free housing, free cigarettes, free beer, free groceries. I am tired of paying for them; might as well get them for free. Tax the Rich!

I wonder if other republicans should vote for her; it might be hard on a few good republican candidates, but I don't think they need the help this time around.

Study that picture; it could not be a better statement of the modern-day Democratic Party!
