I’m incredibly thankful for the prayers, kind words, and support my family and I have received over the past several days. It has meant more to us than you know.
On Saturday night, I was traveling home after a full day of events across western Wisconsin when the small plane I was traveling in lost power and made an emergency water landing on Lake Wausau while approaching Wausau Downtown Airport.
The pilot and I were able to get out of the plane and call 911. We swam to a shallow area, where the Wausau Fire Department reached us by boat. We were both taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital with minor injuries and were able to return home that night.
I’m grateful for the experienced pilot who was with me, the first responders who came to our rescue, and the doctors, nurses, and staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital who took care of us. Most of all, I’m thankful I was able to go home to Chris and my family.
Unfortunately, I could not be in Washington, D.C. this week because my doctor recommended that I avoid flying for a few days. While I would have preferred to be there in person, my office has continued working every day to serve the people of Wisconsin’s Seventh District.
You never take a day for granted after something like this. I look forward to continuing my work for the people of northern and western Wisconsin.
Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We will be back in two weeks with another Tiffany Telegram.

There are risk in many ways when one runs for office.
There is nothing good about crashing a plane, but having a very competent pilot is a great idea. Tiffany is fortunate to be alive, but just barely more fortunate than Wisconsin. Varnam would have stepped up, taken the helm, and been an exceptional Governor. Wow, what a team Wisconsin has!
