Re-awakening Needed; LEAD WI Answers the Call

Yesterday, I was on a flight to Washington, D.C., for our national conference when I found myself seated next to Congressman Glenn Grothman (WI-06). As you can imagine, our conversation quickly turned to the state of our nation, the challenges before us, and where we find hope for our future.

At one point, Congressman Grothman paused and said something that has stayed with me: “This country needs a re-awakening to get us back on the right path.” As he shared his concern, he pointed to the Charlie Kirk book he was reading, noting Charlie’s impact that challenged a new generation to engage our culture with conviction.

The Congressman’s words immediately took my mind back just a few days.

Last week, over 150 students from across Wisconsin gathered for LEAD Wisconsin. They weren’t there simply to attend another summer camp. They came to be equipped with a Biblical worldview, challenged to lead with courage, and encouraged to boldly live out their faith in a culture that desperately needs truth.

If we want to see America experience the kind of re-awakening Congressman Grothman described, we must recognize it won’t merely happen by changing laws or winning elections. It will happen because hearts are transformed by Jesus Christ and because young men and women are prepared to lead faithfully wherever God calls them. That is exactly what we witnessed throughout LEAD Wisconsin.

One of the week’s most encouraging moments came as students committed to taking the next step by joining our Ambassador League – a year-long mentorship program that continues their growth through discipleship, leadership development, service opportunities, and accountability. They aren’t content with a mountaintop experience; these students are choosing a year of intentional preparation to become faithful leaders in their schools, churches, campuses, and communities.

Friend, this is how lasting transformation takes place: one student, one family, one community at a time.

Thank you for making this ministry possible. Your prayers and generosity are helping raise a generation that is ready to stand for truth, love their neighbors well, and boldly shine the light of Christ wherever He leads them.

I spent the entire evening with Glen Grothman on election night 2006 in Eau Claire, WI. We shared the same table, just he and I. He is 100 percent real and rarely smiles. He comes from a very republican area and makes no apologies for his conservative views, and should not. He is very knowledgeable and 100 percent sincere. As I see it, any advice from him is good advice
