A Wisconsin congressional campaign recently removed a volunteer after social media videos surfaced showing the activist calling on followers to “kill your local Republican” and promoting what was described as a “trans jihad” against political opponents. The campaign quickly distanced itself from the statements, calling the individual “deeply troubled.” The incident has prompted discussion on the increasingly hostile rhetoric that has become all too common among people with dissenting opinions. Political disagreements should never lead to threats or calls for violence. While statements like these are beyond reprehensible, they expose a larger issue – humanity’s sin nature. We pray that Americans, including the person who made these violent comments, will ultimately turn to Jesus Christ. He is the only solution to the problems facing our world.
