Candidates During CouleeConservatives Day with the Loggers

As I write this, it is the eve of our Independence Day Holiday so it seems to be an exceptionally fitting time for this article. On Saturday we held our first annual CouleeConservatives Day with the Loggers. If you follow our Facebook page you might have seen the live videos we did during the event to say 'hi' to our conservative candidates. It was a wonderful time and it turned out to be exactly the type of event we had hoped for: a casual opportunity to enjoy fellowship with area conservatives and get to know the candidates. ‘No speeches, just fellowship’ was the motto I used with those who helped organize the event and it turned out perfectly!

Everyone had a great time. We received several compliments for such an all-American type of event and there is already discussion about how to make it even better next year.

First and foremost, I want to thank our Heavenly Father for all the blessings that he showers upon us every day including during the day of this event.

Secondly, I want to thank the people who first conceived of the idea and brought it to my attention. They were also the first in line to help organize everything and make contacts to coordinate with candidates and elected officials. Believe me when I tell you: that is not an easy job. Thank you for making those contacts and follow ups and thank you for coordinating the door prizes.

Thirdly, thank you to all the people who showed up to enjoy the game and some casual ball park conversation. The candidates were very generous with their time and were terrific in the way they reached out to have conversations with everyone. Kevin Nicholson, Steve Toft, and Albert Rohland are really great guys and I highly recommend that you get to know them before the election.

Finally, thanks to the Loggers and Dan Kapanke for such a terrific, all-American venue to gather at.

Happy Independence Day!
